01Who We Are

Talib: Easy Islamic Learning ("Talib", "we", "us") is an app for learning about Islam through short lessons and quizzes. It is published by Stride Performance Technologies, which is the data controller for the personal information described here.

This policy covers the Talib iOS and Android apps and the web pages we serve at api.talibapp.com and talibapp.com (together, the "Service"). It sits alongside our Terms of Service.

In short: we collect what we need to run your account and track your learning. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers. You can delete your account and its data at any time.

03Information That Stays on Your Device

Location. The Qibla compass asks for your location so it can work out the direction of the Kaaba from where you are. This is calculated on your phone. We never send your location to our server and never store it. Your phone's operating system (Apple or Google) may look up your country from those coordinates using its own location services. You can refuse or withdraw location access in your device settings; only the Qibla compass needs it.

Sign-in token. To keep you signed in, the app stores a sign-in token in your device's secure storage (the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore). It is removed when you sign out.

04Purchases and Payments

Coins, health refills and Talib Premium are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your card or bank details; Apple or Google handle the payment.

We use RevenueCat to check purchases are genuine and to manage subscriptions. The app identifies you to RevenueCat by your Talib user ID (a random identifier, not your name or email). RevenueCat receives your purchase and subscription receipts from Apple or Google, and basic device information such as your country, app version and platform.

07Who We Share It With

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf and under our instructions:

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or to a buyer if Talib is ever sold or merged, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.

08International Transfers

Our server and some of our providers are in the United States, so your information may be processed outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law provides, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses offered by these providers.

10Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time, in the app under Settings → Delete Account, or without the app at api.talibapp.com/delete-account. Deletion is immediate and permanent and removes the data described in Section 9.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Talib Premium subscription. Cancel it in App Store → your profile → Subscriptions on iOS, or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions on Android.

11Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email notkamara@gmail.com from the address on your account. We'll respond within one month. If you're in the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), or in the EU to your local data protection authority. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out with you first.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

12Children

You must be at least 13 to create a Talib account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

13Security

All traffic between the app and our server is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, password reset codes are stored only as hashes, and your sign-in token is kept in your device's secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you and the regulator about a breach where the law requires it.

14Changes to This Policy

We'll update this policy when the Service or the law changes, and change the "Last updated" date above. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
